Voyages Audacia

Who is behind Voyages Audacia?

Me, Audrey! I'm a travel advisor and I personally take care of every client, from the first question to the trip home. You may already know me from my Facebook pages, Les Deals Voyages d'Audrey and Collection Voyage par Audrey.

Are you a licensed travel agency?

Yes. Voyages Audacia is a travel agency licensed by Québec's Office de la protection du consommateur (licence no. 703800).

In practice, you benefit from the protections provided by law, including the Compensation Fund for Customers of Travel Agents (FICAV).

What is the FICAV and does it protect me?

The FICAV is a fund administered by the Office de la protection du consommateur. It may reimburse you if you don't receive the travel services you bought from a Québec travel agent, for example if a supplier goes bankrupt, or if you need to be repatriated.

To be eligible, you must be a consumer residing in Québec and have bought your travel services from an agent holding a Québec licence. Details are on the Office de la protection du consommateur website.

Does it cost more to book through you rather than on my own?

For vacation packages and tours, generally not: I'm paid by the tour operators, and the price is the same, or even better thanks to the exclusive deals I negotiate.

For tailor-made trips, planning fees may apply depending on the scope of the project. I always tell you clearly before we start.

Booking

How do I book an offer shown on the site?

Click “Details”, then “Book my spot”. You can also message me on Messenger or by email. I check real-time availability, confirm the final price, then send you the deposit steps.

Your spot is only guaranteed once the deposit is received and the booking is confirmed by the supplier.

Why are spots limited?

My exclusive offers are often blocks of seats or rooms negotiated in advance. Once they're sold, the price goes back to the regular rate. The remaining spots shown are updated regularly, but availability is always confirmed when you book.

The offer I saw on Facebook is no longer on the site. Is it still available?

The best deals sometimes go in a few hours. Write to me anyway: I can often find an equivalent option for the same dates or budget.

Do you organize group trips (weddings, family, friends, corporate)?

Yes, with pleasure! Destination weddings, family reunions, trips with friends or corporate incentives: I handle the coordination, rooms, transfers and activities. The earlier you contact me, the better the choice and the group rates.

Prices and payment

What is included in the prices shown?

Unless otherwise stated, prices are in Canadian dollars, per person, double occupancy. They include transportation, accommodation and the services described in the offer, as well as mandatory taxes and fees.

The “child” price applies to children aged 2 to 12 sharing a room with two adults. Prices vary with availability and may change until the booking is confirmed.

How much is the deposit?

The deposit depends on the tour operator and the type of trip. The balance is usually due 30 to 60 days before departure, depending on the tour operator. The exact amounts and dates are always shown on your invoice.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment is made by credit card. For your security, never send me your full card number by Messenger or email: I'll tell you how to pay securely.

Can the price go up after I book?

Rarely. Under Québec's Regulation respecting travel agents, the price may only increase because of a rise in fuel costs or a change in exchange rates, and never within 30 days before departure. If the increase is 7% or more of the price of the services (excluding GST and QST), you can choose between a full refund or a similar trip.

Details are in our terms and conditions.

Changes and cancellations

Can I change or cancel my trip?

Yes, but fees may apply. The tour operator's or carrier's terms apply, and they get stricter as departure approaches. I explain them before you book, and they appear on your invoice.

This is one of the main reasons to buy cancellation insurance (see below).

What happens if the tour operator or airline cancels or changes my trip?

I let you know as soon as I'm informed and present your options: an equivalent replacement trip or a refund, depending on the supplier's terms and your rights. For flights, the Air Passenger Protection Regulations may also entitle you to compensation.

I need to change a traveller's name. Is that possible?

The name must match the passport exactly. A small correction is often possible, but changing the traveller is treated as a cancellation by most carriers. Check the names carefully when you book.

Insurance

Do I need travel insurance?

I strongly recommend it. A single day in hospital abroad can cost thousands of dollars, and the RAMQ only covers a small part of care received outside Québec.

There are two main types of coverage: cancellation insurance (if you can't leave or must cut your trip short) and medical insurance (care and repatriation abroad).

My credit card or group insurance already covers me. Is that enough?

Maybe! But check the limits: number of days covered, maximum amount, age, pre-existing medical conditions, requirement to pay for the trip with the card. Send me the details of your coverage and I'll help you see if anything is missing.

When should I buy cancellation insurance?

Ideally on the day you book, or within the period set by the insurer. After that, some coverage is no longer available.

Travel documents

Is my passport valid long enough?

Many countries require a passport valid at least 6 months after the return date. Check the expiry date now: a renewal can take several weeks.

Do I need a visa, an electronic authorization or vaccines?

It depends on your destination and citizenship. I'll point out the main requirements when you book, but the official reference is the Government of Canada's travel.gc.ca. For vaccines, see a travel health clinic 4 to 6 weeks before departure.

Each traveller is responsible for having the right documents: a traveller refused boarding or entry is generally not refunded.

I'm travelling alone with my child. What do I need?

The Government of Canada recommends carrying a consent letter signed by the other parent (or by both parents if the child is travelling with someone else). A template is available on travel.gc.ca. Each child must also have their own passport.

When will I receive my travel documents?

You receive your confirmation as soon as you book. Final documents (e-tickets, hotel vouchers, schedules) are sent by email, usually a few days to two weeks before departure, depending on the tour operator. You can also find them on the My travel documents page.

Adventure trips

What's the difference between an escorted and a self-guided trip?

Escorted: you travel in a small group with a guide. The itinerary, accommodation, transportation, most meals and activities are included. Ideal for enjoying without planning anything.

Self-guided: flights, hotels, transfers and key excursions are booked for you, with a detailed itinerary, but you keep free days and travel at your own pace, solo, as a couple or with your family.

Do I need to be very fit for an adventure trip?

Not necessarily! Each trip has its own activity level, which I explain before you book: walking, altitude, heat, long travel days. Tell me about your fitness and your wishes, and I'll steer you to the trip that suits you.

I'm travelling solo. Will I pay more?

For tours, a single supplement often applies for a private room. However, some group departures offer room-sharing with another traveller of the same sex to avoid it. Ask me about the options!

How many people are in a group?

It varies by tour, but I favour small groups for a more personal experience. The minimum and maximum number is stated in each offer.

Tailor-made trips

How does planning a tailor-made trip work?

We start with a conversation about your wishes, dates, budget and travel style. I then prepare an itinerary proposal, which we refine together until it's perfect. Once you're happy, I book everything and give you a complete travel booklet.

How far in advance should I contact you?

For a tailor-made trip, ideally 3 to 6 months before departure, and more for high season (Christmas, spring break, summer) or a honeymoon. But don't hesitate to write to me: I sometimes find great solutions even at the last minute.

What budget should I plan?

There's no minimum: I adapt to your budget and tell you frankly what's realistic. Give a range in the request form; it helps me suggest the best value for your money.

During your trip

What should I do if there's a problem at my destination?

First contact the tour operator's representative or guide on site: they can solve most situations right away. Their contact details are in your travel documents. You can also write to me: I'll follow up with the supplier. In a medical emergency, call your insurer directly.

What if I'm not satisfied when I get back?

Write to me as soon as possible with the details and photos if you have them. I'll pass your complaint on to the supplier and follow up for you. Complaints often have to be filed within a set period after your return, so it's important to act quickly.
